The DFH Audition Day is a crucial part of the process. If you are unable to attend, you will forfeit your place in the competition. Audition Day is Saturday 28th November 2026.
Not all applicants will be asked to attend the DFH Audition Day.
Each stage of the competition will be photographed and filmed for broadcast and use on social media and within general media. Footage will also be used for publicity during and after the event. Dance Floor Heroes and Tia’s Crown own the rights to all footage and media.
If successful at the DFH Audition Day, you will be asked to produce a 60-second video for our panel to view so the final selection of participants can be made.
You must be aged 18 or over. There is no upper age limit.
You do not need to work for the NHS or be a key worker to apply. You just require a love for dance. Everyone is welcome!
You do not need any previous dance ability to enter.
12 finalists will be selected for the Live Show. We will also select four reserves.
You need to be fit and well enough to complete the six weeks of training and perform on the evening.
The Dance Floor Heroes team makes every effort to ensure training for each couple is within a reasonable travel distance. Training must be completed to take part in the Live Finals.
You must enter on your own. If chosen, you will be partnered with a professional dancer.
Dedication is what you need! This opportunity is a dream come true for many, so we hope you will follow the journey through until the end.
A maximum of 12 hours of dance training will be arranged with your professional partner. Any extra practice time can be organised with your professional partner but will not be funded by the charity.
Training will commence during the week beginning six weeks prior to the Live Show.
The event is raising money for Tia’s Crown, with an overall target of £35,000. Sponsorship from friends and family will be required. We also recommend organising fundraising events. Our team can provide advice.
There will be a prize for the person who raises the most through sponsorship.
The event will be held at the Empress Ballroom, Winter Gardens Blackpool, on Friday 14th May 2027.
You will be required to attend a full-day rehearsal in Blackpool on Thursday 13th May 2027. Please ensure your work and home life can accommodate the trip to Blackpool.
There will be an overall winner on the night.
Tickets for the Live Show will be available to purchase nearer the date of the event.
No monetary equivalent is available.
The Dance Floor Heroes/Tia’s Crown team reserves the right to remove a finalist if their conduct within the competition is not considered acceptable.
